Lamtec Flame Monitoring/Flame Evaluation/Flame Scanners

Flame scanners that comply out of the box with NFPA 85 proof-of-flame requirements, that easily retrofit to existing mount tubes, that wire into existing BMS or other safety control systems with only 4 connections needed, means shortened conversion time, lower install cost. And with ruggedized in-unit electronics, the entire installation and commissioning is done simply at the point of physical connection to the burner saving even more time and money.

Purpose

In single-burner and multiple-burner furnaces, the flame detector performs a high-safety monitoring of the burner flames. When the flame switches off, the safe control state "Flame off" is reached.

The flame detector is mainly used in large-scale power plants, thermal power stations and chemical plants as well as for monitoring furnaces which are operated with:

  • Oil
  • Gas
  • Bio-mass
  • Dust coal
  • Chemicals and other waste products

Purpose

The fibre optic option is a fibre optic bundle for use with LAMTEC F200K and F300K compact flame monitors. Fibre optics are used on burner installations where direct flame viewing is poor or not possible and/or where high process temperatures prevent local mounting of the flame scanner.

The fibre optics are permanently cooled using purge air; the maximum permitted operating temperature Tmax on the process side is 350 °C.

The fibre bundle itself is designed for max. 200 °C (constant temperature).

The following flame scanners in the fibre optic version can be used for the various applications:

  • F200K-FO, F200K-FO Ex-II
  • F300K-FO, F300K-FO Ex-II

The use of the fibre optic version for F200K Ex-I is not possible.
